1. The Challenge

A client market wanted to create a motivational fun video to screen for their employees at an internal event. With the FIFA World Cup approaching, they wanted a high-energy video theme that combined the excitement of soccer with the heartwarming, team-focused leadership style of TV series Ted Lasso.

The brief required a cinematic narrative broken into three specific chapters. The main challenge was technical: creating a diverse, consistent team of characters and a specific “Coach” persona, all of whom needed to appear consistently across dozens of different AI-generated shots, from the locker room to the pitch.

2. The Solution

I used VEO3 inside Google Flow to generate a photorealistic soccer match and narrative film. Unlike stock footage, which would have been generic, this approach allowed me to customize the home team kits to match the client’s exact brand guidelines.

I built the narrative around the hero team, visualizing the client’s core value proposition-partnering with brokers and carriers to provide value and convenience- through the metaphor of a cohesive sports team working together to win.

3. The Production Process

  • Script Visualization: I converted the client’s script into stills – precise visual prompts. This included specific emotional moments, such as the quiet tension of the locker room, the “roar of the crowd” during the tunnel walk and high-stakes game moments like fouls and goals.
  • Character Consistency: I established a cast of consistent characters, including a 45-year-old coach with a “warm, encouraging” baritone voice and a diverse lineup of players and coaching staff.
  • The Narrative Arc:
    • Established the “Coach” giving a passionate pep talk in the locker room, featuring the iconic “BELIEVE” banner above the locker room door.
    • Showcased the team supporting each other, including trainers and water staff, reinforcing “one team”.
    • The climax of the match, featuring dynamic camera tracking of goals scored and the team celebrating success.

4. The Results

The final video was screened at the event to anecdotal success, serving as a powerful emotional anchor for the event. By using AI, I was able to produce a “commercial aesthetic” video that would have cost tens of thousands of dollars to film with a real production crew.
